Fortnite Season 9 In The Works With Mysterious Runes

It appears Epic Games are gearing up to break the Fortnite island again as they have started placing mysterious runes around in prep for Season 9. People have already started to take notice of the floating and semi-glowing hunks of rock that have been appearing on the map, with a dedicated Reddit post checking them out. So far they have a couple of locations mapped out including Shifty Shafts, Fatal Fields and Paradise Palms. And they've begun experimenting with them, as you can see from the video below, you can launch off of them like the cubes before them if you hit it right.

What they will do is unknown at this point, but we're sure some hackers are already hard at work datamining Fortnite to spoil whatever the event will be. Hopefully, the devs at Epic Games have figured out to stop naming everything so obviously like "earthquake" and "rocket ship" and will start giving these events more mysterious names in the code to keep the mystery intact. Season 8 kicked off back in late February, so a new season seems like it should be due in May.
