Did Mike Tyson Leak a New Nintendo Punch-Out!! Game?

No matter what version of the franchise you play, by far, the most popular and well-known version of Nintendo's Punch-Out!! is the one with Mike Tyson. One of the most well-known games on the planet, due in part to one of the most dominant boxers to ever step into the ring being your main boss. But after the license ran out to use his name and the legal battles he had in the '90s, Nintendo never used a real-world boxer for any of the subsequent releases. Now it seems Tyson himself may have given gamers a bit of news in terms of what Nintendo may have planned this year. Below is a tweet sent out earlier today where the former boxer says they're working on a new Punch-Out!! without him.

If that's indeed true, that's big news in terms of what the company has planned for the Switch this year and what could possibly be shown at E3. Even without Tyson, a new version of Punch-Out!! for the console seems like a no-brainer, especially with the ability to use the joy-cons as gloves if you wanted to. We'll see if anything comes of this rumored leak, but for now, we're saying it's a rumor since we have nothing else to really base it on until we get to June. It does beg the question: How did Tyson know a game was in the works if they never asked him to be in it? Especially since the company has gone out of their way to pretend he was never part of the game to begin with after the latest Nintendo Switch Online release of the game wasn't the Tyson version.
