The Final Story Patch of FFXIV's Stormblood Cycle has Launched Today

The climatic end of the Stormblood storyline aarrived in Final Fantasy XIV Online today with the release of Patch 4.56.

This finale will set the stage for the next expansion, Shadowbringers, in which players hop dimensions to the First World and visit  Norvrandt. Essentially this makes all players take on the role of Warriors of Darkness as seen during theHeavensward content patches.

Additionally, Patch 4.56 will feature the following new content:

  • Yojimbo Trial BattleKugane Ohashi: The 8-player special fight against Yojimbo, that debuted during the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2018-2019 Tour, is now accessible to level 70 Disciples of War and Magic.
  • Even Further Hildibrand AdventuresThe Inspector Extraordinaire makes a return.
  • Stormblood  Beast Tribe QuestsThis new questline culminates the Stormblood beast tribe quest series and will feature the Kojin, Ananta, and Namazu tribes.
  • New Equipment, Minions, and Emotes.

Additionally, subsequent updates are planned in the lead-up to the July 2 release of Shadowbringers, which will introduce additional features and content for all players.

A collaboration with Final Fantasy XV, scheduled for release on April 16 will feature hero Noctis Lucis Caelum entering the world of Hydaelyn. FF XIV players who complete the collaboration content can obtain a number of FF XV-themed rewards, including Noctis' hairstyle and outfit and the first ever four-person mount: the Regalia.
