Does Spider-Gwen Forget About Great Responsibility in Ghost Spider #6

Back in the very beginning of the story of the original Spider-Man (and retold countless times in dozens of origin rehashes), Peter Parker learned that with great power there must also come great responsibility. He learned that lesson when, instead of using his spider-powers to help others, he used them for his own personal gain. Then, when he let a crook escape because it wasn’t his problem, that crook went on to become the greatest murderer in the history of the Marvel Universe because he killed Spider-Man’s Uncle Ben and, unlike everyone else in the Marvel Universe, Uncle Ben actually stayed dead.

Well, in this preview of next week’s Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, Gwen seems intent on repeating the mistakes of her predecessor…

Not only is she using a symbiote to avoid having to do chores, but now she’s become a… hero for hire?!

Spider-Gwen looks for approval from her dad…

And when he doesn’t give it, she rationalizes…

This isn’t gong to end well, Gwen. It never does.

This preview was an EX-X-XCLUSIVE on a site we’ll call The Meat, run by someone whose name rhymes with Snidey McRonald. Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider #6 hits stores next Wednesday.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
