Tetris 99 is Running a Maximus Cup Competition Over The Weekend

Coming up this weekend, Tetris 99 will be holding a competition for three days called the Maximus Cup to earn some Nintendo Gold Points. The company made the announcement this evening along with other Nintendo Switch Online news, letting fans know that they'll be giving you a shot and what is essentially free eShop money. Between March 8th-10th, you'll compete in as many matches as you can trying to earn 1st Place victories. At the end of the three days, the top 999 players to win the most games will receive 999 Gold Points on their account.

Yes, for those of you who are going to rain on this parade, we understand the conversion of Gold Points amounts to a whole $10. But you know what? There's a lot of indie games on the eShop that can be bought for $10 and under, so you could probably walk away with a couple of games for free if you're amazing at Tetris 99 and you truly want to do so. You can read the full set of rules here, and much luck to all of you who choose to play.
