Collegiate StarLeague Offers Street Fighter V Options in U.S. and Canada

Those of you looking to do esports in college through the Collegiate StarLeague have a new option as Street Fighter V will be added to the mix. The program will be called the Street Fighter League: NA-College 2019 and will offer opportunities throughout the United States and Canada. We have the schedule for you below as well as a couple of quotes from the press release about the partnership with Capcom. This is a nice chance for those in the fighting community to get in on the action beyond Smash Bros.

Collegiate StarLeague Offers Street Fighter V Options in U.S. and Canada

"Fighting games have always been at the core of the competitive scene," says Wim Stocks, CEO & General Manager of Collegiate StarLeague and WorldGaming Network. "We've had a long-standing relationship with Capcom and Street Fighter V, and we are very pleased to expand our partnership with Capcom to create an official collegiate league for Street Fighter V, and to help broaden our fighting game offering for passionate collegiate gamers in the US and Canada!"

"For more than 30 years, Street Fighter has been the king of fighting games," said Yoshinori Ono, Street Fighter series Executive Producer, Capcom. "We're delighted that our partnership with CSL will allow us to expand Street Fighter V to the collegiate market, with incredible live gaming events unlike anything else currently offered."

The program, officially dubbed Street Fighter League: NA-College 2019, will kick off the partnership with a cross-country college tour in March:

  • March 17 – University of California, Berkeley
  • March 17 – Ohio State University
  • April 14 – Rutgers – Scarlet Classic
  • April 20 – UCONN – Husky Gaming Expo
  • April 27 and 28 – Atlantic City – CSL Finals
  • May 24 – University of Washington – Husky Gaming Expo
  • May 25 – UCSD – Triton Gaming Expo
  • June 8 – NY – East Coast Smash Divisional
  • June 15 – UGA – South Smash Divisional
