This year, Comedy Central‘s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will be in the spotlight at SXSW Festival – which will be taking over most of downtown Austin, TX with multiple events. Not to be outdone, network programming pal Broad City will premiere its final episodes on Sunday, March 10 – followed with an exclusive Q&A with series stars and creators Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer.
Trevor Noah had previously been announced as a keynote speaker at SXSW, and this marks the second year The Daily Show has brought its “News Team Panel Hard” to the festival. For 2019, they’re bringing a special guest: CNN Chief Washington Correspondent Jake Tapper, who will join Noah as well as Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Desi Lydic, Dulcé Sloan, Roy Wood Jr., and Jaboukie Young-White. The panel goes down hard at 12:30 CT on Sat, March 9 in the Austin Convention Center, Ballroom D.
On top of that, the team will also host a stand-up comedy show at Esther’s Follies on Friday, March 8 at 8:00 p.m. as part of the SXSW Comedy Festival as well as presenting “The Donald J. Trump Presidential Twitter Library” at the Driskill Hotel from Saturday, March 9 – Monday, March 11. That is definitely a “can’t-miss” for this year.
And if that’s not enough, Comedy Central is hosting their Backyard Bash at Pelons Tex Mex / Bar 508 Mezcalerita from 12-5 p.m. on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16 – where they promise “Free Beer, Food, and Fun Fan Activities.”
Finally, we will get an opportunity to give one more “Yassssss” together for the genius of Jacobson and Glazer’s Broad City. The finale screening will take place at the Zach Theatre on Sunday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. CT and will be followed by a Q&A with Jacobson and Glazer. There will be laughs… and maybe some tears, too.
