There is New York. And there is New York below, full of Morlocks, the Lizard, his family, those Turtles probably, and the like.

Below that is Subterranea, full of Moloids, Tyrranoids, Molans, Lizard Men,  Gortokians, Ghouls and Lava Men. And the Mole Man, which means he can pop up whenever he needs to go to Macy's or whatever.

But what about inbetween?

Today, we get a brand new undiscovered level, Under York. And revealed in today's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, #3 that seems partially Planetary and partially Neverwhere, but for the one percent….

And we get a brand new parallel for countries that put up borders or leave trade areas….

Three miles down, could it be a sister city to the mile down city beneath Cincinnati built by the original Secret Empire?

That naughty one percent. They're always up to stuff like this. Over in today' Savage Dragon they are putting themselves into the bodies of Immortal Gods too.

It does beg the question, how has no one noticed Under York before now? And like Counter Earth, it asks all sorts of questions about what's going on in a shared continuity.

But also gives us plenty of stories to come – and no doubt, revelations about the past. Maybe it's where Howard Stark went after he faked his death? It does have a certain Atlas Shrugged flavour to it…

Say, you don't suppose they have the cure for cancer, do you?
