Brian Bendis Has Given Superman a Brand New Super Power

Once upon a time, writers gave Superman a new power as often as he changed his shirt. Which, given he was always ripping the buttons off them in phone booths, was quite a lot.

Bill Finger gave him super-muscular control to change his appearance. Jerry Coleman, the power to shoot mini-versions of himself through the air. Robert Leslie Bellem let him vibrate through molecules. Richard Donner gave him time travel. Richard Lester turned his S shield into an ezpandable plastic prison that could be thrown. Most recently, Geoff Johns gave him a Super Flare which leaves him incapacitated. And often naked.

Well, it's time for Brian Bendis to give us a new one. Unless it's a variation on that super-muscular control from the fifties…

On his Reddit AMA, when asked 'What is the most ridiculous Superman story you'd like to write?' he replied,

Clark goes undercover in issue 1010 of ACTION COMICS. He grows facial hair by flexing his jaw muscles. I am not lying! Undercover Clark's name is Chaz and he looks exactly like Bradley Cooper in AMERICAN HUSTLE. Lois loves Chaz.

Growing hair follicles by flexing your jaw muscles? That's a superpower, certainly.

Looking like this? Is this Chaz?
