Rainbow Six Siege Unveil Their Latest Australian Operators and Map

Ubisoft has finally shown off the two new operators you're getting in Rainbow Six Siege for the next addition, Burnt Horizon, and there's some surprises in here. We get a good look at Mozzie and Gridlock, two new Australian-based ops who have their own tricks of the trade. Mozzie is your defender, and Gridlock your attacker,  both friends for years in the Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) Platoon, according to the storyline.

Gridlock is going to be your new favorite toy to play with uses as she has a special weapon called Trax Stingers, which are a portable version of road spikes that when activated, deploys a hexagonal cluster of spikes. These things sprout up like fungus on the floors, but they don't go under doors, spread up walls, or expand beyond areas they can't normally reach. Defenders take damage from stepping on them and get slowed down, just like they would with barbed wire, but attackers are immune. You can destroy them by shooting them, and stop them if you find the main one creating them.

On the other side of the coin, Mozzie can deploy a Pest Launcher that will change the way you look at drone surveillance. When launched, the Pest latches onto the nearest enemy drone and obscures its camera, then hacks into it and overrides the programming, giving him control of the drone. You can use Dokkaebi to take back the camera, but not control. We also have new info on the latest may sitting in the desert called Outback.

Alongside these two new Operators, Burnt Horizon introduces the map Outback, a lonely service station forgotten on one of Australia's iconic motorways. Outback is divided into three distinct sections – the Garage, the Motel, and the Restaurant – all of which are unique and distinctly recognizable, even from a distance. Outback is a medium-sized map, so players won't need to go far to find alternative routes. Packed with twists, turns, and Australiana, Outback is filled with unexpected corners and souvenirs from the Great Southern Land.

All of this will go live in the test server tomorrow, Monday, February 18th. In the meantime, enjoy a video look at it all.
