Marvel's Runaways Seems Set to Return for a Season 3

There has been some serious blood in the water when it comes to Marvel TV in the last six months. Since October, we've lost five shows so far (The Defends, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Legion) and there is a chance we could lose up to three more (The Punisher, Jessica Jones, The Gifted). That leaves some of the other shows in a bit of a weird situation since no one is really sure what is going to survive to see another year.

Marvel's Runaways Seems Set to Return for a Season 3

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is returning this year for a season six and has been renewed for a season seven. Cloak and Dagger is set to return for its second season in April on Freeform. Runaways dropped their second season on Hulu back in December and judging by the ending they were quite confident they were going to get a season three. It sounds like that confidence is going to be rewarded. According to Deadline, it sounds like we'll be getting another season. Hulu's content chief Craig Erwich didn't confirm anything at the TCA presentation but the odds do sound in this shows favor.

"We're really happy with the performance of Runaways, both creatively and in terms of its performance and we'll have an announcement shortly," Erwich said, speaking at TCA.

As far as live-action shows go in 2019 we can expect Legion to return for its final season, Cloak and Dagger, Jessica Jones, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to return this year, as we wait for the fate of The Punisher and The Gifted wraps up its second season. If we do get a third season of Runaways, perhaps Hulu will stick to their release schedule and we could see the show as early as December 2019.

Summary: After discovering their parents are super-villains in disguise, a group of teenagers band together to run away from their homes in order to atone for their parents' actions and to discover the secrets of their origins.

Marvel's Runaways, created by Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz, stars Gregg Sulkin, Ariela Barer, Lyrica Okano, Allegra Acosta, Virginia Gardner, and Rhenzy Feliz. The first and second season now streaming to Hulu.
