For Hercules, Does Pride Goeth Before a Fall in Next Week’s Avengers No Road Home #1?

Next week sees the start of Avengers No Road Home, the 10-part weekly sequel to Avengers: No Surrender. The format allows the creative team to tell an epic Avengers story outside of the constraints of the current ongoing Avengers title. It also allows Marvel to both boost those sales for three months by getting people to buy four extra Avengers books in one month and to jack up those legacy numbers to get them closer to a big milestone issue they can charge ten bucks for.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. In a preview for the issue, Hercules arrives on the scene of a supervillain disturbance, but he doesn’t spend much time gathering information before rushing into the battle…

Perhaps that’s true, Hercules. But if we know anything about how ten-part epic stories tend to go, you’re probably about to get your tight ass handed to you here.

We’ll find out when Avengers No Road Home #1 hits stores next Wednesday.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
