Marshmello's Fortnite Concert Breaks a Concurrent Player Record

It looks like the Marshmello concert in Fortnite did more than just get people's attention, it appears to have broken a new video game record. A number of sources are coming out saying that the game appears to have broken the Concurrent Player Record, as Geoff Keighley pointed out on his Twitter feed, along with Forbes reporting.

Epic Games hasn't released any hard data themselves confirming how many people were online at the time, but if it is true, it would beat the last official record of 8.3 million, which Fortnite also set back in November 2018. Regardless of what you think of the game, that's a monumental step for any IP to achieve and one that (unless Fortnite decides to throw another concert) will take anyone a while to break again.
