Cyclops is Dead Again in Next Week's Uncanny X-Men #11… Wait, What?!

Marvel makes a regular habit of killing off its characters in shocking death issues only to resurrect them in equally-shocking and even more marketable return issues a short time later, only to kill them off again in a never-ending cycle of sales-boosting comic book industry excess. But even so, it's still surprising that they would kill off Cyclops so soon after bringing him back in last week's Uncanny X-Men Annual.

Nevertheless, the words are right there on the page of Uncanny X-Men #11, as this preview reveals…

Of course, that's technically Cyclops saying it, which might call reports of his death into question. Nevertheless, the preview does make some other bold and probably factually inaccurate claims, such as…

Hmm, we're beginning to think Cyclops may be an unreliable narrator. Maybe he's just trying to burn it all down after reading about his ex-wife Jean Grey making sweet love to Bishop in Age of X-Man Alpha?

We'll learn more, hopefully, when Uncanny X-Men #11, a super-duper oversized (and overpriced) issue, hits stores next Wednesday.
