Does Jim Lee See Himself as Nick Fury on the Cover of Cover #6?

This is one of the weirdest Jim Lee variant covers we've come across. Appearing on the variant cover to Cover #6 by David Mack and Brian Bendis, in a story in which some simulacrum of Mack and Bendis travels the world going to comic conventions as a reluctant agent of the CIA, turning other comic creators who are agents of foreign powers–specifically a version of Esad Ribic, recreated not so much as a tortured artist, but an artist who tortures.

It's basically Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind but with comic books instead of game shows. Each issue has had a variant cover from a significant guest star that Bendis has recruited.

For the upcoming finale Cover #6, which promises much, Jim Lee provides the variant in a very different way… introducing James Lee, agent of the CIA. I hope we get to meet him inside the pages…
