Natasha Alterici's Lesbian Viking Comic Heathen Returns in June with New Artist

Heathen, the Vault comic book by Natasha Alterici is returning this June with a new artist, Ashley Woods, after a year and a half away. The comic, which is also in development as a movie, sees queer protagonist Aydis on a quest to end the oppressive patriarchal reign of Odin alongside Valkyrie Brynhild and talking horse Saga. No matter the comic book universe, Odin is a dick.

Woods is taking over art from Alterici, who has had to take time off due to hand pain. Alterici will write the comic, with Rachel Deering lettering.

In an EX-X-XCLUSIVE at THR, Alterici had this to say about Woods taking over:

Ashley is superbly talented, her characters are alive and expressive, her worlds vivid and wondrous. I am confident in her skills and her vision, and I am so pleased to have her as a part of Team Heathen.

Here's the Heathen #7 synopsis:

Freyja arrives at Odin's keep to find it all but destroyed in a fit of rage perpetrated by the god king himself. She strikes up a philosophical debate, in hopes of buying Brynhild more time. Meanwhile, an ocean storm threatens Aydis and the pirate crew.

Heathen #7 hits stores on June 26th.
