Thank FOC It's Friday #10 – Twenty-Nineteen Sounds Like a Countdown…

Welcome to Thank FOC It's Friday, a weekly-ish mailing list, similar to The Daily LITG, but (mostly) every Friday and planned to coincide and cover the demands of Final Order Cut Off. The date when retailers have a last chance to amend their advance orders for comic books without penalty. A last chance for publishers to promote books while orders can still be added. And a time for credits to be amends, new covers to be revealed and a final push given. This is an attempt to sift through them all and find the most relevant items.

You can sign up here or with the form at the bottom. So what's going down?

Dynamite is making Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt #1 returnable if retailers order ten or more copies. And that it is to be regarded as an unofficial sequel to Watchmen. Nominees have been announced for Diamond's Gem Awards 2018. Marvel has corrected their very odd solicitation for the first Epic Collection of Sgt Rock and the Howling Commandos. Diamond is splitting billing for Free Comic Book Day 2019 for retailers – but only in North America. Rodmans Comics isn't looking forward to Free Comic Book Day – but now is the time to sign up if you want to. Marvel has a bunch of second printings and is making 8 comics available for retailer exclusive variants for March – but will anyone bother? The War Of The Realms party and cover variant ratios and qualifiers have been laid out. As has a price increase – and a spinoff series by the McElroy Brothers. Erica Henderson is having a gallery exhibition in Orbital Comics, London. Marvel is launching a new rating for their YA comics titles, Ages 10 & Up. Sarah Gaydos is the new EIC of Oni Press. We reported the closure of three comic book stores, in Colorado, Tennessee, and Nottingham. Comic retailers seem to be going all in for Boom's Buffy The Vampire Slayer – oh and comics retailers have what ComiXology does not… Dark Horse Buffy. Bob Wayne will be speaking at ComicsPRO in February, Marvel is reprinting Spider-Ham but not Spider-Man Noir… yet. And yes Watch out is anyone in the Las Vegas area suddenly wants to sell you a hundred grand worth of comic books. There are cancellations on GammaAspen titles, Stabbity Bunny but you will get Seeds #3… eventually. Which of you went early with this week's comics? And we got a history lesson with Diamond's relationship with Pacific Comics., what happened when Dave Sim showed up, and how Diamond got to return four million dollars of comics to Image. And how adultery saved DC Comics and Diamond back in the day. We also have new projects from Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen, Brian Bendis, Rob Liefeld, Charles Soule and Scott Snyder, Ben Dunn and David Furr,

And for FOC this week:
