Capcom Removed In-Game Ads From Street Fighter V

One of the more controversial things in Street Fighter V that fans haven't really enjoyed are the in-game ads you see from time to time. Capcom added the feature to where you could watch ads in the game and earn fight money for doing so, which sent people over the edge on social media. Well, it appears Capcom may have listened to their fans to some degree, because the option is now gone. Event Hubs noticed the change this week, as trying to select certain colors in Ad Style will come up with a message saying the content is unavailable.

Whether or not this was due to fan pressure of if the system just wasn't working out is unknown at the time, but it does seem a little strange that the system would be pulled a mere couple weeks after being added to the game. At the time, they were only running Capcom Pro Tour ads as the sponsored content, so it's not like it was anything controversial, it was just in-house promotion. We'll see if they bring it back to Street Fighter V in the new year.
