The Walking Dead Season 9b: Stork Arrives in February? More Ezekiel Time? Alien Abductions? (UPDATE)

If you're a fan of AMC's The Walking Dead universe and you're not a regular reader of Skybound's The Walking Dead Fan Mailbag, then you're missing out on some prime teases, behind-the-scenes perspectives, and a willingness to address even the more "interesting" of questions (you'll understand when you get to the end).

With The Walking Dead set to return for the second-half of season 9 on February 10th (and the fifth season of Fear the Walking Dead currently in production), Skybound's Johnny O'Dell tore open the mailbag for a Christmas Day edition of updates – here are some of the highlights (and you can check out the entire post here):

● After what happened to Jesus (Tom Payne), fans shouldn't get their hopes up for a new romance for Aaron (Ross Marquand):

"I feel like at this stage in the show and in the apocalypse, I don't know if finding love is a really critical thing at this point. I feel like we're all like, 'You know what? It's not working out for the lovers, maybe we just get through each day and eat our food and plant crops and maybe we make that our focus.'"

"He's already got baby Gracie, he's got to take care of her. I feel like that's where he's putting all his unrequited love."

– Marquand (Walker Stalker Con New Jersey 2018)

● Daryl (Norman Reedus) won't be getting a "plus-one" any time soon – maybe because it's also implied he's not getting a shave/haircut/shower any time soon, either.

● However, it looks like the post-zombie apocalypse community might be adding a "plus-one" to their baby population in February.

● While there was no further information on the fate of Austin Amelio's Dwight, it's interesting to note that they quoted Amelio's opinion of his character's status from Walker Stalker Con New Jersey 2018:

"He's not dead. That's all I can say…he's alive. He's alive in the world somewhere…I think where he said he was going to go, to try and find his wife and just (be) a lonesome traveler on the road."

● While Maggie (Lauren Cohan) won't be seen in the remainder of season 9, readers were reminded that showrunner Angela Kang has plans for Maggie in season 10.

● Fans of King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) who found him a little too MIZ this season will be seeing a lot more of him when the series returns, especially with the community fair coming up.

● As for those mysterious X-shaped scars Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Daryl are sporting, we'll get answers to what happened during the time jump via flashbacks – and maybe see a very pregnant-with-RJ Michonne (Pregnant Michonne with sword? Sweet!)

● Now in an instance that we're assuming was a mistake and the answers whould be flipped – or a very subtle and highly appreciated joke – I present to you this question and response as posted:

Did we just break news?

● So remember that "interesting" question I told you about earlier? Soooo…here's how the crew from The Walking Dead would match up if they were…

(…wait for it…wait for it…)

Dancer = Kelly

Prancer = Dog

Vixen = Rosita

Comet = Magna
