An International Teaser Trailer for 'Dark Phoenix' Hits

Usually, an international trailer or teaser trailer for a big studio release will have some new footage, a different take, or a different song- but this new teaser for FOX's upcoming Dark Phoenix doesn't have any of that, really.

Its more of the same (which isn't bad), with a skin of subtitles:

Back in October, Sophie Turner spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the literal months of preparation she and director Simon Kinberg went through in order to fully prepare for the mental strain we see Jean Grey go through in the film:

"We mainly studied schizophrenia and personality disorder. When you see the movie, or if you've read the comics, you'll know why.  This, I felt, does relate so much to the mental illness world. I felt like everything had to be a respectful version of what it is, and not feel gimmicky. This script, even with the fantastic elements, not once does it make it any lighter than it is."

Kinberg commented on the collaborative nature of this film, particularly when it comes scene work with Turner:

"It wasn't running the scenes as much as it was investigating the scenes and taking them apart and putting them back together."

As to introducing aliens and outer space [finally] to an X-Men film, Kinberg mentions Marvel Studios, and brings up the tonality comparison to FOX's Oscar nominated Logan:

"What Marvel Studios has done in terms of making [superhero] movies extra-terrestrial has helped us to tell this story, to also go to outer space, to have alien characters. There are scenes in outer space—you couldn't have had that in Logan. It has that texture, that emotionality."

Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters on June 7th 2019.
