Wargaming and Mad Head Games Reveal Pagan Online Gameplay

Wargaming and Mad Head Games have released the official gameplay reveal trailer for their upcoming action RPG Pagan Online today. The game is set to launch on PC in 2019, though a specific release window has yet to be given.

Today's trailer shows the game's powerful heroes take on waves of vicious enemies and various bosses. All of the characters- from the heroes to the bosses to the random trash NPCs are based on figures of pre-Christian mythology, which explains the game's name. As the focus for the trailer is on the gameplay for Pagan Online, we get to see the special abilities of the game's first three characters, plus some loot drops so we get a feel for how looting enemies works in game.

Prior to the game's launch, Wargaming and Mad Head Games will be hosting pre-launch tests which are being called Trials. Sign up for the pre-launch Trials is open now on the official Pagan website.

The game is being developed with an ambition to bring new meaning to the "action" part of the Action RPG genre by introducing intense and exciting session-based combat that rewards players for being smart and skillful. The character progression system incentivizes building and developing a group of characters rather than specializing in one  character with multiple builds.

"With Pagan Online we've worked hard to deliver a fast-paced and intense combat system that's easy to pick up but difficult to master," said Uros Banjesevic, Co-founder and Creative Director of Mad Head Games. "We took inspiration from MOBAs to create unique characters with specific skills and specialties, and when you put them into this type of combat system you end up with a family of fighters that do different things well in different scenarios."

"The amount of loot in Pagan Online is vast – we want players to be challenged to experiment and find the right combinations of skill boosts and buffs that make their playstyle even more effective," said Jacob Beucler, Product Director, Wargaming. "This means knowing the different characters, how you want to play them, and what they're good at, and trying out different loadouts until you find the most deadly combination."

Pagan Online features difficult missions, high replayability, intense top-down combat and tons of customizability, loot, and mayhem. Join the carnage by signing up for the Trials on the game's official website.
