What Toys do People in the Marvel Universe Buy? Amazing Spider-Man #11 Reveals All

In Watchmen, the reason that there aren’t any superhero comic book being published in the eighties is explained away that real-life superheroes had a negative effect on interest and sales, and eventually the market settled on pirate comics instead. I  never liked that explanation, it always felt to me that actual superheroes would lead to a spike of interest in superhero comics – or at least, wouldn’t see them be replaced on the newsstand by other genres. After all, Ozymandias made his fortune through merchandising.

In today’s Amazing Spider-Man #11 we get a bit of that as well, looking at the kind of toys that parents buy their kids in the Marvel Universe. We have seen many stories with superheroes confronting their own action figures, sdoft toys and the like. But this is something a little special.

Is that ironic? Of is the likely appeal of this design mean that you’ll get these instore for Christmas 2019?
