In last week’s Batman #60, Commissioner Gordon became a bat man of his own, as he took a baseball bat to the Bat Signal, severing the police department’s relationship to the billionaire vigilante.
But in today’s Batbooks no one seems to have noticed. The Batman Who Laughs #1 has Commissioner Gordon turn the Bat Signal off because of the action of parallel Batman, the Grim Knight.
Though in the Batman ongoing series, Commissioner Gordon behaves to Bruce Wayne as if he is the Grim Knight, after Batman punched him out and burnt through the Batman rogues.
While in Detective Comics #994, the first Peter Tomasi and Doug Mahnke issue out today, the Bat Signal is in full working order and somehow has gone portable…
And seems to get destroyed all over again. While in Batman Damned, it has been repurposed…
That Jokerized Bat Signal has to be on official DC merch by the summer, right? That’s if Black Label is allowed merchandise these days…
