Writer of Last Week's Doctor Who: It Takes You Away, to Write for Series 12

Ed Hime, who previously only had two episodes of E4's Skins to his TV name a decade, but a long history of radio and theatre work, wrote last week's episode of Doctor Who, It Takes You Away.

Which was either a dazzling display of hard sci-fi ideas wrapped up in scandi noir, or the one where the Doctor saves reality by talking to Kermit The Frog. One of the two.

It was my favourite episode of this year's series, so I am glad to see, on Ed Hime's agent's page that he is also signed up to write an episode of Series 12, going into production in 2019 – whenever it gets aired.

His other projects include the ITV revival of Sapphire And Steel, new sci-fi series Beauregard for Fifty Fathoms, and other entertainingly-sounding projects like Weird Blood for the BBC, Pollen for Red, Bloody Hell for Fremantle, Love Me If You Dare for Studio Canal, The Alternatives for Big Talk, Locked Box for Big North,

And you can also catch up with him on the film podcast he co-hosts, You Should Watch This with Ed and Simon…
