Brie Larson Got Ridiculously Ripped for Captain Marvel

It's not easy portraying a superhero on screen because you're taking these characters created through art where they can look as inhuman as we want. It means that people like Chris Hemsworth and Hugh Jackman have spent years of their lives making their bodies look like the drawings in comic books. Now that the ladies are coming into the spotlight they are also picking up the weight. Both Gal Gadot and Evangeline Lilly got crazy in shape for their roles as Wonder Woman and The Wasp respectively and Brie Larson wasn't any different. Yahoo visited the cast of Captain Marvel earlier this year and Samuel L. Jackson showed the reporters a video of Larson pushing a Jeep up a hill and lifting 350lbs.

"Oh my gosh. He showed those to you?" an awestruck Larson, who won an Academy Award for her stunning breakout performance in the 2015 drama Room, said when we brought them up. "I can't believe it. I feel like I'm close to 100 people that have come up to me and been like, 'I saw this video that you sent Sam.' It's so embarrassing. I sent that to him in private. He actually showed the person that was next to him on a plane, too. Which I found out later. 'Oh, I sat next to Sam who you sent that video and he showed it to me.' I was like, 'Why?' … He knows it was … I came from humble beginnings."

For Jackson, he couldn't believe the change his co-star went through and this is the third time they've worked together.

"The girl that I did Kong and Unicorn Store with is not this person," he said. "She's like 5 percent body fat now. … She's made a distinct transformation that I don't think a lot of people would be willing to do. It's a huge commitment to do stuff like that."

We just got a second trailer for Captain Marvel last night and fans are over the moon. Thus far it looks like they're nailing the tone of this movie and it's going to be a ton of fun.

Summary: Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, will also star Brie Larson, Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Samuel L. Jackson. The film is set for release on March 8th, 2019.
