Miles Morales Gets Political For New Spider-Man Series (SPOILERS)

Alongside the release of the new Into The Spider-Verse movie, Marvel Comics is launching a new Miles Morales: Spider-Man series.

Issue 1 is out in a couple of weeks, but it looks like it has the potential to pick up headlines.

The solicitations for the first three issues by Saladin Ahmed and Javi Garron are relatively tame.

But there is indication of something there. A dark turn. A thieving ring. Missing kids. Sounds like something out of Oliver Twist.

And in a partial preview of the first issue seen by Bleeding Cool, it seems to focus on immigration. There are protests and newspaper headlines over the detention of immigrant children. Miles' girlfriend Barbara's young cousin has had his father deported and his citizenship is under threat. Which may also explain the presence of Captain America.

And with Miles Morales taking the 'with great power there must come great responsibility to heart over the whole matter… oh and as well as burglaries to foil and fires to rescue people from.

Out in a week-and-a-half. Watch out for any spoilery media headlines a little closer to publication…
