Adam Shankman Says ‘Enchanted’ Sequel Still in the Works

Director and choreographer Adam Shankman wants fans of the Disney film Enchanted to know that a sequel is still in the works!

While the live-action (with some animated parts) film was released way back in 2007, the Amy Adams-starring film has resonated with fans to this day.  The sequel, Disenchanted (although possibly now with a different name because of the Netflix animated comedy), has been rumored for pretty much all that time.

Cinemablend recently spoke with Shankman about his upcoming film What Men Want, which stars Taraji P. Henson, and managed to shoehorn in a question about the Enchanted sequel, which he will theoretically direct:

Yeah, we’re still working on it. We’re plugging away. We are trying to get there to start… we are pounding forward. I can just say that, Amy (Adams) has read the most recent scripts. We’re real happy with the most recent script. And we’re just wrestling now with things like budget and getting music written and all of that. I’m hoping that it’s imminent.

We’ll let you know if we hear anything concrete about Disenchanted, perhaps Disney would consider the sequel for their streaming service, Disney+?

What Women Want is set to hit theaters on February 8th 2019. You can see the red band trailer for it here.
