Todd Phillips Shares Yet Another 'Joker' BTS Photo- It's…Okay?

Director Todd Phillips just loves to share images of his upcoming Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix.

We're not complaining really, its just…..strange.

Today, Phillips shared this [actually interesting, what?!] image of Phoenix taking a smoke break on set in costume on his Instagram account, crediting the image to Niko Tavernise:

Tavernise is also behind the previous set photos of Phoenix, like this one featuring the full-on clown costume:

And, that very first photo of Phoenix as Arthur:

Joker is being called an origin story, and is said to be taking place during the 80s in Gotham City. This sounds interesting, considering the assembled cast thus far: Zazie Beetz, Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, and Josh Pais.

The Warner Bros. film has a release date of October 4th, 2019.
