Last week Batman #56 was one of the first to have this month’s foil cover designs which have proved rather popular in stores. However while it is not as universal an experience as some have believed, some stores reported damages to the covers of all their Batman #56.
This week’s issue of #Batman 56 (despite the damaged cover printing error), looks really cool with the foil cover, and the story in it from @TomKingTK is spot on, and riveting. @TonyDanielx2 art is fantastic, & really captures the emotion and pacing of the story. There have also been reports that Diamond Comic Distributors had told retailers that this was a company-wide issue and there was no way to get replacements.
Well, it seems that just wasn’t true. Because these reports were enough and DC Comics has decided to replace any damages. Retailers will receive replacement first printing copies of this issue at no cost to themselves, in quantities equal to the number of copies reported as damaged by yesterday. As for the damaged copies, stores are welcome to keep them. No sending back or pulling covers necessary.
The replacement copies are scheduled to arrive in stores on October 31st.
BATMAN #56 FOIL
(W) Tom King (A) Danny Miki (A/CA) Tony S. Daniel
The Dark Knight’s looking to drop both the hammer and sickle on the KGBeast, whose rampage across Gotham City takes a toll on Nightwing when he’s injured in the fray. Blaming himself for his ward’s fate, Batman gets grimmer than usual-and vows to take the Russian assassin down like the Berlin Wall. Is even Gotham City ready for that much violence? The streets will run red like borscht if the Dark Knight gets his way against this Soviet scourge. In Shops: Oct 03, 2018
