Netflix Will Still Push Forward With a Stranger Things Video Game

Telltale Games may be dead, but at least of their titles won't be as Netflix will still be pushing forward on a Stranger Things video game. The company sent the statement below to Polygon in regards to them asking what will happen to the game now that they no longer have a studio. The company is moving forward despite what has happened.

Netflix Will Still Push Forward With a Stranger Things Video Game

"We are saddened by news about Telltale Games," Netflix said in a statement. "They developed many great games in the past and left an indelible mark in the industry. Minecraft: Story Mode is still moving forward as planned. We are in the process of evaluating other options for bringing the Stranger Things universe to life in an interactive medium."

Considering the deal was only made a few months ago, we doubt any major work was completed on the game beyond preliminary sketches and story info. So those of you hoping for whatever Telltale was working on to see the light of day can take a breather as there probably wasn't much to show in the first place. Considering the direction they wanted to take in storytelling, however, it will be quite interesting to see what studio Netflix lands on to make the game.
