Surprise… Death Stranding Will Not Be Playable at Tokyo Game Show

Today in the world of “News We Could Have Told You a Year Ago”, Death Stranding will not be playable at Tokyo Game Show. Last week we told you that the game would officially be included in the lineup of games for the convention, specifically to show off the game for a stage show featuring the cast and Hideo Kojima. Well, yesterday evening the company decided to dash your hopes of trying it out and took to Twitter to break the news.

Now as much as we’re making fun of the situation, we’re seriously not surprised. In fact, we think it’s a safe bet moving forward that with the exception of selective media and streamers and other gaming dignitaries (if you will), the public will never see a demo of Death Stranding and will have to settle for waiting until it’s officially released. It just feels like the game is too weird and shrouded in mystery for Kojima to allow the public to play it before buying it. We could be wrong, and hey, we wouldn’t mind being wrong. But we’re done getting our hopes up to try this out at a convention.
