Mocking Fighting Games with Super Combat Fighter at PAX West

In the PAX Rising booth this year, one of the funniest titles we came across was Critical Depth Games and Headless Chicken's Super Combat Fighter. If you couldn't tell by the imagery, this game basically takes the piss out of longtime favorites like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter by putting together a fighting game that is completely satirical on the genre as a whole. Every minute of playing it gave us a chuckle, even though we were limited to two characters for the demo.

To borrow a line from Stefon, this game has everything. Red ninjas, shirtless fighters, blue ninjas, enlarged fighting, green ninjas, tons of death traps. And don't look now, but is that a yellow ninja? There's so many inside jokes that crossed the screen we don't have time to list them all, but some of them included getting hit by couch snacks and destroying home items all the way to mocking the "Toasty" reference for a special hit. At the moment, the devs are running a Kickstarter campaign for Super Combat Fighter with the hopes of getting a Q3 release in 2019 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. We're kinda interested to see how the fighting game community latches onto it and what they think of the parody.
