Loot Crate, the geek-themed mystery box subscription, seems to live or die each month by the quality of that month’s crate. It is castigated as a concept over some X-Files pencils, then declared it has redeemed itself with two T-shirts in one crate.
It is quite possible that September’s standard crate will utterly divide the geek community.
Dubbed ‘Invaders’, the Standard Loot Crate for September 2018, will have items from Venom, Predator, Aliens, and X-Files. And we now know what the Alien item is.
The Loot Crate DX – Invaders box for September 2018 has different, more valuable items for these brands as well – but we don’t know what those are.
But as for the standard crate, the Alien figure is something rather different and possibly unexpected.

Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for the geek demographic that has been running since 2012. Their themes change monthly and can be anything from ‘Invasion’ to ‘Anti-Hero’ to ‘Future’. Loot Crate teams up with lots of companies such as DC, Marvel, and Nintendo to create a what is intended to be an exclusive and value-added array of merchandise in every crate. One-off crates with particular themes have been released, such as for Fallout 4 and Mass Effect. Loot Crate has also spun off into Loot Crate DX, Loot Crate Anime, Loot Pets, Loot Wear and specific brand boxes such as Firefly, J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, Halo, and more. They may have benefitted from the recent bankruptcy of rival subscription box Nerd Block.
