CD Projekt RED has revealed an extended gameplay video for Cyberpunk 2077, giving fans their first look at the game in action.
Earlier today, a previously unannounced livestream hit from CD Projekt Red. It wasn’t clear what it was, with seemingly random text continually filling the screen but obviously, something was going on.
Well, what was going on was preamble for Cyberpunk 2077‘s gameplay reveal. In it, we get a look at the character creator, where you will pick your gender but also your backstory which will affect the choices and how the game reacts to you. You will also get to define your class as you go.
The rest of the video shows the first person action. It’s certainly a very different vibe than The Witcher, but it looks really dynamic with destructible environments and abilities. We get a view of the story, with the characters finding a target in the hideout of some bad dudes who are harvesting people for their implants. Past that, we also get a look at the more civilian part of life, as you get to exist and explore your own apartment. We see the dense and detailed environment of Night City, a dystopian nightmare complete with targeted advertising. Lovely.
It looks seriously impressive, especially the dense population that walk around you as you go. The upgrade system seems really in depth, but also interestingly seamless. You live through in real-time as upgrades are put into you.
There is a lot more in here too, but I won’t spoil it all. Enjoy your trip into Cyberpunk 2077. You can check out the full gameplay reveal here. Word of caution, there is violence and nudity in here, so it might well not be safe for work.
It’s good to finally have the secret of what Cyberpunk 2077 will ‘look’ like revealed to the wider public. It didn’t disappoint either. The reveal is lengthy and has me wanting to know much more. This is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games on the horizon, and this will have only kicked that hype into overdrive.
