The Disney Princesses' Get Casual in This New Image from Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is looking to continue Disney's new tradition of deconstructing its own genre. We knew that was on the way the minute we got a look at the Disney princess scene. For Sarah Silverman, who voices Vanellope, it was really emotional for her when she realized that she voices a Disney princess. Silverman talked to Entertainment Weekly about what that moment meant to her.

"I'm very proud of my character being a Disney princess with a human waist. I love that she is a princess but wears, like, a hoodie, and she inspires them all to wear comfortable clothes," says Sarah Silverman. "It didn't really cross my mind that I'm a Disney princess — like, that I'm canon— until we all met this year, and I got a little choked up. It's corny, I know, but I was like, 'Oh s—t, right. I'm this Jewish, comfortable-clothes-wearing Disney princess. How cool is that?"

We get a look at the princesses in their pajamas afetr Vanellope is accepted as a princess. The idea of bringing in the princesses and other Disney properties made sense to co-director Phil Johnston.

"It's what Wreck-It Ralph was about: What happens when the arcade is closed and how do these characters behave when no one's looking? And it's very similar to what happens when you're backstage in the princesses' dressing room. What do they do? What do they look like? What do they talk about?"

We've seen in the trailer that when you lay out what happens to these women in their stories it becomes a little disturbing. Silverman said that that the princesses and Vanellope all learn a lot from each other while drawing attention to those tropes that made these characters famous.

"The princesses and Vanellope learn a lot from each other, but what happens in that discussion is acknowledging the… I don't want to say just blatant sexism, but the kind of dated, antiquated idea of princesses and bringing it up to a feminist — meaning equal — code."

Co-director Rich Moore was excited to take these characters that have been around for so long and make them feel a little more human. The humor comes from things that we've seen in other clips like Jasmine being allergic to her pet tiger.

"To be able to work with these characters in a way that's funny and human… they're so iconic, but to me, they felt like they were frozen in another time that made it hard for me to kind of identify with or understand them," says Moore. "That's just me personally, [but] I think what's fun about that scene is that this is really adding a facet to them that makes them feel like real people."

We can only assume that the amount of Disney and internet jokes in this movie might actually, well, break the internet. Someone is going to have to go through this movie frame by frame to find all of the references. The humor of the internet is fast and animated movies take a long time to get made. We have to wonder if this movie is going to somehow feel dated right out of the gate.

Summary: Six years after the events of "Wreck-It Ralph," Ralph and Vanellope, now friends, discover a wi-fi router in their arcade, leading them into a new adventure.

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, directed by Phil Johnston and Rich Moore, stars John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Ed O'Neill, and Ana Ortiz. It will be released on November 21st
