Overwatch Summer Games Event Starts This Week With More Lucioball and New Skins

Blizzard has announced that Overwatch's Summer Games event will begin later this week, bringing new skins, emotes and a new map to LucioBall.

Overwatch

The summer is in its latter half now, although you'd be forgiven for not thinking it. The sun seems to be blaring down on just about everyone right now, especially those of us in Europe where we are experiencing a savage heatwave. The best way to avoid getting burned or catching heatstroke? Stay inside, maybe play some video games. If the sun is too hot, why not frolic around in the virtual one?

On that note, Blizzard has announced that the annual Overwatch Summer Games Event is starting this week, which will bring with it all sorts of cosmetics and modes. As is custom with these events, several characters will be getting skins themed around sports and summer wear. So far, Reinhardt, D.VA and Winston have had skins revealed which you can see right here:

Elsewhere, Lucioball (a Rocket League-ish mode… only with Lucios) is coming back and expanding. Last year saw a Sydney map added to the already existing Rio De Janeiro map, and word from the OverwatchKR Twitter account says that this year, we are going to South Korea's Busan for this year's.

The event will kick off on August 9 and run until August 30, so you have time to collect all that you are after from the event.

There will be more skins revealed in time, of that I am sure. The Summer Games are always a good laugh, and Lucioball, which is a nice way to get some extra CP points for those elusive Golden Guns is always a fun distraction. Have at it Overwatch fans.
