Jakks Pacific Brings Harry Potter, Nintendo, WWE, and Batman to SDCC

Jakks Pacific held their SDCC panel Friday evening, and as always it was a ton of fun. They keep things very loose and fun, doing giveaways and trivia throughout the panel. It really keeps their fans engaged. Well, it helps when they show great stuff coming soon, but Jakks is one of those rare companies that actually love interacting with their fans and actually remember people when they come to their panel every year. Great stuff.

Getting into what was shown, they started the panel showing off their different lines of wands for wizards both young and old. The first wave consisted of 12 wands, with a wave 2 hitting in the fall. There will also be a pewter version of Sirius Black's wand that caused some oohs and ahhs. A Niffler Challenge game spotlighting the Fantastic Beasts character is on the way, as well as Wizard Training Wands with a ton of playability as well. Looks like they are making the most of that license.

WWE fans, I have sad news. They will not be continuing to produce title belts. Their Heavyweight Title belt, formally a Toys R Us exclusive, can now be found as an exclusive at Target if you were not able to get one. A new Big Fig John Cena with 20 points of articulation is coming, and Hardy Boyz Wrestling Buddies will be exclusive to Ringside Collectibles.

Sadly, during the Q&A portion of the panel they told us that they have no plans going forward to do any more Star Wars Big Figs after their Solo offerings. That is sad news; they did a wonderful job with those.

The Incredibles 2 line will continue with new waves of figures and an Incredicar RC car, and it looks dynamite. Batman is getting a $40 next version of the Big Fig that looks incredible, and Mega Man will have his 30th anniversary celebrated with 8-bit figures, plush, and more. I really liked the larger figure with lights and sounds and interchangeable parts.

The main event for most in the room, however, would be the World of Nintendo and Nintendo lines. Wind-up toys, RC cars from Mario Kart, and figures in their 2.5 and 4 inch Plenty of exclusives will be coming to both GameStop and Walgreens as well.
