Comixology Bestseller List – 22nd June 2018 – Marvel Inching Their Way Back In

Welcome to the Comixology Bestseller list, your guide to see how well your favorite titles are selling digitally. Every week I'll post the ranking of every new title, plus a ranking of the best selling volumes & graphic novels. As always, I hope you find it interesting and informative.

Last week was DC domination, but this week is much closer. Final score: DC 6, Marvel 4. Credit to Marvel: at the end of last year, Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man & Iron Man were not Top 10 brands. But through careful planning, these books have inched their way back in. Now let's see if they can stay there.

49 issues in and Tom King's Batman takes another No. 1 title. While the other DC books have faltered or switched authors, Batman Rebirth shows no signs of slowing down. If King's 100 issue plan stays intact, then we're halfway through one of the most successful runs for a single writer on a superhero book in modern times.

Man of Steel may have been top dog last week, but this week it had to step aside for Batman and Justice League. Man of Steel releasing each week has been a good benchmark in the same way Injustice 2 has. With Man of Steel beating Mister Miracle and Flash last week, we can now safely assume Scott Snyder's Justice League is now DC's No. 2 overall best digital seller.

X-Men Gold got a boost this week thanks to the real wedding making an appearance. My condolences to anyone who bought "The Wedding Special" expecting an actual wedding. At least DC has the good sense to call their buildup books "Preludes". Marvel, in case you were wondering, prelude is a noun that refers to an action or event serving as an introduction to something more important.

Hey, let's see how the Hulk copies are doing this week. Damage is at No. 34, and Weapon H is at No. 41. (Interestingly enough, they both had Swamp Thing and Man-Thing on their covers, respectively). Meanwhile, The Immortal Hulk debuted at No. 8 in the new titles rankings two weeks ago. Damage could sell better Cho's Hulk (at first), but now it can't hold a candle to the O.G. Banner. Meanwhile, Weapon H has been struggling to beat My Little Pony. I really do like these two titles, but I don't anticipate them lasting much longer.
