Sony Releases Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 as PlayStation Plus Game

At the pre-show for Sony's PlayStation press conference this evening, Sony announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops III would be released as a PlayStation Plus game later tonight. This means all PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download a copy of the game for free.

This comes after the premiere of a trailer for the release of four remastered fan-favourite maps in Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Jungle, Summit, Slums and Firing Range. These maps will be available to those who pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which will be released on October 12th.

I assume that a lot of people still like to play Call of Duty: Black Ops III multiplayer, with its over-the-top cybernetic powers for new and creative ways to kill opponents before tea-bagging them. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will not have a single-player campaign. It has long been assumed that the vast majority of players who buy Call of Duty games don't bother with the single-player campaign and only care about the multiplayer anyway.

But if you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you'll be able to grab a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops III tonight for free. That's if you hadn't already bought one.
