IDW's Tom Waltz Teases "Top Secret" G.I. Joe Project for September

It looks like there may be another event coming in IDW's G.I. Joe: Real American Hero comic. IDW editor Tom Waltz posted a cover by Luca Pizzari and Adam Guzowski on Twitter, featuring Dawn Mareno, Snake Eyes, front and center, in front of Low Light, Cover Girl, Scarlett, and Rock 'N' Roll.

"This is for a #TopSecret #GIJoe project coming in September!" Waltz shouted. "Keep an eye out for the announcement from @IDWPublishing."

On his Tumblr earlier this month, Pizzari posted the uncolored version of the cover, naming it as the cover to G.I. Joe #256. Does that indicate that whatever big event IDW has planned will take place inside of the ongoing G.I. Joe: Real American Hero comic? Perhaps it will be another weekly event like 2016's Cobra World Order? Based on the timing, this could be a San Diego Comic-Con announcement, though we hope we find out sooner.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
