The Nerds Came, Saw, and Conquered Baltimore’s Power Plant Live: Photos

Last weekend I got to attend Transcendent Events‘ Nerdpocalypse at Baltimore’s Power Plant Live. I was invited to be a guest judge for the costume contest, but even if I hadn’t been a guest judge, I knew this event was a must-see. Kevin and Holly Hock put on these nerd events once a month, and each month it’s always something special and unique. From wrestling parties, to superhero themes, and of course Harry Potter, they’ve really carved out a nice slice of nerd heaven in Baltimore.

I was lucky enough to help with check-in too, so I got to see what it was like to work for one of these events. It’s as busy as you could imagine, and with 500+ people at Nerdpocalypse, we kept busy! The event was almost like a miniature convention, with panels, a Sorting Hat ceremony, a wrestling promo game, and of course themed drinks at each bar.

I had a blast here. If you haven’t been to one of these events, what are you waiting for? Like their Facebook page and keep up to date with all their events!

About Veronica Webb

Veronica Webb is a self professed comic book nerd, with a strong focus on Archie and Golden Age comics. She also enjoys Disney World more than the average person, and bad movies. Speed Racer is one of her favorite movies. Seriously.
