Solo: A Star Wars Story – New Look at Dryden Vos and Mandalorian Armor

We finally have a story trailer out, but we still don't know much about what happens in Solo: A Star Wars Story. We know that Han gets himself in trouble with a gangster at some point, but not much about that gangster. However, we have a new image from Empire Magazine of Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos, and people are already making a big deal out of the armor in the background.

Vos is being touted as Solo's main villain, a facially scarred "big-shot" criminal overlord who recruits a crew of reprobates for a heist. The character was originally portrayed by Michael K. Williams back when Phil Lord and Chris Miller were directing, but is now portrayed by Bettany in Ron Howard's film.

Yes, that is Mandalorian armor, but that doesn't mean it's Boba Fett. Not every Mandalorian we see in Star Wars is Boba Fett, and not every Mandalorian we see hanging around shady people is Boba Fett. If there was a place for that character to show up it would be in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but Lucasfilm wouldn't reveal that in an image.

Summary: During an adventure into a dark criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his future copilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the Rebellion.

Solo: A Star Wars Story, directed by Ron Howard, stars Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, and Thandie Newton. It will be released May 25th.
