Sebastian Stan Would “Absolutely” Appear in the Black Widow Solo Movie

It looks like work on the long-awaited Black Widow solo movie is finally getting under way, but what does that entail exactly? Natasha has a very complicated backstory in the comics, but it doesn’t look like they are following it for the movies. One of those complications is her relationship with Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier. They are one of the great romances of the 616, and fans have been wondering if it’ll ever make it to screen. Well, one half of the couple is definitely in. Sebastian Stan told Bad Taste that he would love to appear if they asked him to be in a Black Widow movie.

Yeah, absolutely! Of course! I mean, anytime I’m ready. … They have a very nice history in my opinion. It’s very intricate … the truth is actually here in the comic books. He was a teacher to her. It’s all set during a specific, interesting time. The Cold War. It’s all very … spy, thrillerish, noirish story … it would be very interesting to explore that on film. I would love if they do that. You know, I hope. Maybe they will.

This isn’t the first time Stan has said that he’d be interested in exploring the relationship between Natasha and Bucky, but we’ll have to see where they decide to take the Black Widow movie. We’ll also have to see if they both make it out of Avengers: Infinity War alive — though the Black Widow movie could easily be a prequel.
