Ace reporter Robert Goode writes for Bleeding Cool from the Marvel Next Big Thing Panel at C2E2:

Marvel’s new Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski with Tom Brevoort, Jordan D. White, Jason Aaron, Gerry Duggan, Charles Soule, and Skottie Young sat down for their Marvel: The Next Big Thing panel at C2E2 to talk about plans for 2018. The next year will take characters in new directions and a slew of #1s.

First up is Thor by Jason Aaron and Mike del Mundo. Aaron called this arc the “Third Act” and said that everything will be different for Thor. It will include a back-up story by Christian Ward.

Avengers #1 by Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness will be a Big Classic team with some new members (Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider!). It will be full of big events for a big team. It will come out approximately every six weeks and will feature several guest artists later on.

Immortal Hulk #1 by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett tells the story of The Hulk that cannot die. Banner wants to make his curse mean something and makes Hulk the monster who hunts monsters. This is more of a Horror-Adventure book.

Astonishing X-Men #10 by Charles Soule and ACO. Professor X is back! With #11-12 art by Greg Land.

The Hunt for Wolverine #1 by Charles Soule and David Marquez is a fast-paced story with an emotional core. It will move into four minis that build to something special this fall.

Daredevil #601 by Charles Soule and Mike Henderson starts the Mayor Murdock Storyline. New York Mayor Wilson Fisk is out, Matt Murdock is the new mayor, and it feels like the whole city under siege.

Infinity Countdown: Daredevil #1 by Gerry Duggan and Chris Sprouse.

Infinity Countdown #2 by Gerry Duggan, Aaron Kuder, and Mike Hawthorne will be a fight for control of the Power stone. And Adam Warlock is back. Duggan said Infinity Countdown is the second act of the story that began with Guardians of the Galaxy.

Despicable Deadpool #298 by Gerry Duggan and Mike Hawthorne will be the last act of Gerry Duggan’s extremely long run, and Deadpool #300 will have a special cover with 300 Deadpools by Scott Koblish!

And finally, Deadpool #1 by Skottie Young and Nic Klein takes Deadpool back to his roots as a straight-up merc, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead will co-star as a big Cosmic event lands on his lap.

More announcements will be coming during other C2E2 panels, so keep a look out!

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
