Image Comics Declares Hat Trick with Plans to Release 3 Street Angel Offerings in Just 10 Days

Marvel and DC may have thought they were soooooo clever, goosing comic book sales by shipping popular titles twice per month, forcing fans of characters like Batman or the X-Men to pay double for their monthly fix. But what hath they wrought?! What hath they wrought?! According to a press release sent out Thursday, Image Comics is pioneering a shipping schedule that could change everything. The publisher has announced that Street Angel by Brian Maruca and Jim Rugg would see three releases in the span of just 10 days!

Of course, technically, one of them is an Image Firsts edition reprint After School Kung Fu Special, another is a Free Comic Book Day special called Street Angel's Dog, and the third is a new comic, Street Angel Goes to Juvie. Still, Image is claiming the hat trick here, and who knows what kind of message more opportunistic publishers could take if the release proves successful. New issues of Avengers every three days, retailing at $5.99? That could be our future, in which case, we'll all be living on the streets like Street Angel!
