Avengers: Infinity War – Hawkeye is Doing His Own Thing

There have been a few missing faces in the promo material for Avengers: Infinity War, and one of them is Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner. We know that Renner is in the movie, but we haven't seen him at all in a single poster or screenshot. It's a little odd, but according to director Anthony and Joe Russo in an interview with Collider, Hawkeye is doing his own thing in this movie.

Avengers: Infinity War – Hawkeye is Doing His Own Thing

JOE RUSSO: Coming out of Civil War, he's in the same position that Cap and Falcon are at the end of that movie. And Ant-Man. And coming into this movie you know … the characters on Cap's side coming out of the Civil War, some made certain decisions and others made other decisions that led to different paths in them dealing with oversight in this movie in a different way. So Hawkeye's on his own journey in this movie.

ANTHONY RUSSO: Yeah. He has a unique reaction to the civil war situation that puts him in a special spot in this film.

Hawkeye is one of two members of Team Cap with a family that they could lose if they did jail time. We know from the trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp that Scott is under house arrest, but we don't know what happened to Clint. Set photos have also strongly indicated that Clint is going to take up the mantle of Ronin. However, in the comics, Clint becomes Ronin after his family is killed. Does this mean Clint is going on a much more personal journey of revenge? We'll have to see.

Summary: As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
