In today's "I forgot they were doing this" news, we have the first trailer for the upcoming The Grinch revisit animated film starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the neon green grouch. I mean, Grinch.

Watch: First Full 'The Grinch' Trailer Starring Benedict Cumberbatch

Illumination, the studio behind Universal's animated features as Despicable Me and Minions, is behind this new take on the classic 1957 Dr. Seuss story. The original animated film first premiered in 1966 and has remained a seminal touchstone of the holiday season.

Just in case you aren't familiar — The Grinch, a green creature with a remarkably small heart for his body size, hates Christmas and anything happy. He and his trusty canine Max embark on a crazy mission to steal the tinsel trees, gifts, and food from the Whos of neighboring community Whoville. (Maybe you'll recall the live-action adaptation that Jim Carrey did in 2000.)

In this new version, directors Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney tell writer Michael LeSieur's story along with Despicable Me/Minions producers Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy.

Doctor Strange and Sherlock star Cumberbatch is playing the title character. Check out the trailer:

Originally scheduled to be released on November 10th, 2017, The Grinch is set to hit theaters on November 9th with a score by Danny Elfman.
