The first first public screening of A Wrinkle in Time has happened and director Ava DuVernay took it to her own turf. She spoke with Disney and they allowed her to screen the movie in Compton, where DuVernay is from, despite the fact that it doesn’t have a theater. They set up a community center and screened the movie for the people of Compton. DuVernay posted some pictures from the event and it warms our hearts.

Disney and DuVernay have been working hard to bring this movie to low income families including a special partnership with AMC and Color of Change, AMC theaters around the country would be offering free matinee screenings to underprivileged school children.

Nightline also posted two behind-the-scenes featurettes for the movie. The first one includes the cast and DuVernay talking about what it’s like to see the three Mrs. as Barbie dolls.

The second includes some behind-the-scenes footage including talking about the amazing costumes and the kind of set that DuVernay runs.

Summary: After the disappearance of her scientist father, three peculiar beings send Meg, her brother, and her friend to space in order to find him.

A Wrinkle in Time, directed by Ava DuVernay, stars Storm Reid, Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, and Zach Galifianakis. It will be released March 9th.
