Who's Trademarking Comic Con Now?

The fallout of the Salt Lake Comic Con vs San Diego Comic-Con trademark court battle continues. After spending millions, Salt Lake Comic Con has renamed itself Salt Lake Comic Convention. And Phoenix Comic Con is now Phoenix Comic Fest.

And while Mid-Michigan Comic Con does not seem to have changed its name, its attempt to get a trademark for its name has now been abandoned, when opposed by San Diego, as also recently happened to Space City Comic Con, which changed its name to Fandom Galaxy. Or something.

Also the Ontario California Comic Con has abandoned its trademark attempt, and has changed its name to Ontario California Comic Expo.

While the Nashville Comic Con, Gettysburg Comic Con, Ace Comic Con are all having their trademarks opposed.

Nashville became a Wizard World, Gettysburg has yet to sell tickets. Ace Comic Con has about ten days to answer that opposition or have their trademark abandoned, like Mid-Michigan Comic Con and Space City Comic Con.

But one entity that has just applied to register a trademark is California Republic Comic Con. They have a logo and everything. Might we expect a challenge? Especially being on San Diego's doorstep? Or, like Rose City Comic Con, might they come to a mutual deal?
