The number “13” isn’t always an unlucky number – just ask Danneel Ackles (real-life wife of Supernatural star Jensen Ackles), who’s making good on a promise made to fans of the CW‘s long-running series Supernatural. After 13 years, Danneel will be stepping into The Winchester Brothers’ horror-haunting world next Thursday in the 13th episode of the series’ 13th season: ‘Devil’s Bargain.’ The guest star will be playing the role of Sister Jo, a faith healer who finds herself part of Lucifer’s (Mark Pellegrino) plans. Danneel took to social media to update fans on her experiences during filming:
Here’s a look at the trailer for Thursday’s episode; as well as a brief synopsis and some first-look photos from the episode (courtesy of Entertainment Weekly):
Supernatural s13e13 ‘Devil’s Bargain’: Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Castiel (Misha Collins) search for Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) who, meanwhile, strikes an unlikely deal with a local faith healer named Sister Jo (guest star Danneel Ackles). Asmodeus (guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise) inches closer to finding Jack (Alexander Calvert).
In the first image of the three, Sister Jo (Danneel Ackles) meets Lucifer (Pellegrino) for the first time. While at first glance – and taking into consideration Lucifer’s seductive nature – it would appear that Sister Jo looks to be in trouble, her expression and stare gives the impression that maybe even Lucifer underestimates her true agenda.
For a show that’s been based on the foundation of family, Supernatural fans will take particular delight in this second picture: Danneel Ackles’ Sister Jo positioned between her real-life husband Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) and his on-screen brother Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester). But does this mean that she’s siding with The Winchester Brothers…or someone else?
Finally, we get to see Sister Jo in action, “laying hands” and putting her faith healing practices into action for the benefit of an older woman. As a special nod to Supernatural fans, the road signs in the background that point to Sioux Falls and Lawrence are a direct reference to the homes of The Winchester Brothers and Wayward Sisters.
